Pony Finals Adventure

Pony Finals!!
We made the trek to see PONY FINALS in Lexington, Kentucky the week of August 13.  What a fun trip!  I particularly wanted to see the auction which is held in conjunction with pony finals. You can see the catalog at: http://www.professionalauction.com/
Since I held 2 sport horse auctions here in Del Mar with Dale Harvey,  they are of special interest to me.
There were over 100 ponies entered in the auction. There was a good crossection of ponies to be looked at. They had young ones, green ones, going or "Made "  ponies, Division ponies, childrens ponies, and lots of people looking!
The small pony "Jetta" was a crowd favorite, with her flawless technique, and her "pop" that kept her 2 feet over the top of every jump! Also not to be missed was the very special 5 year old pony "Superman".  He had one of the best canters I have seen. Of course, his jump was equally as nice. Rumor has it that one of the "Big Professionals "  bought him.  I also heat that Oliver Brown's pony Marbles is headed to California.
Of course, there were hundreds of other ponies at Kentucky  Horse Park there to do the regular divisions.  On Tuesday night there was to be a meeting in the indoor arena. (The coolest place on the grounds!).  I was amazed to see all of these people swarm over to the indoor, and all of the children disperse to the arena floor and begin jumping anything they could pull out and make a jump from!  Some of the kids were a little hesitant at first, but the other kids made them feel right at home, and pretty soon it was like watching a little choreographed performance!  It was great!
What a trip, and what is better than hundreds of ponies in one place at one time?
You tell me!
